Customer-Led Innovation, a Pillar for Growth for Ornua Ingredientes España
Tuesday 8 September: Ornua today opened a new Research & Development Centre at its Ornua Ingredientes España headquarters in Ávila, Spain, further strengthening Ornua’s position as a global provider of innovative cheese solutions to the Quick Service Restaurant and Food Service sectors. The R&D Centre was opened by Irish Ambassador to Spain, David Cooney during an Ornua Board visit.
Ornua Ingredientes España provides cheese solutions, particularly for the pizza sector, that complement similar investments made in Ornua’s Middle East, US and UK customised cheese solution businesses. The Spanish business is focussed on increasing its scale in the southern-European market through customer-led innovation. The state-of-the-art R&D Centre enhances the business’s ability to develop new product lines and formats for existing and new customers.
Speaking at the opening, Ornua CEO, Kevin Lane said:
“We are delighted to be re-affirming our commitment to the Spanish market, which we see as offering great growth opportunity for Ornua. Since acquiring the business in 2014 we have strengthened our position in the Spanish market by building a significant manufacturing, trading and sales hub to service our growing Southern Europe customer base. Investment in new product development will allow us to build on that, enabling us to more effectively meet the changing needs of our customers and to target new markets.
