Ornua, Ireland’s largest exporter of Irish dairy products, returned to SIAL Paris last week for the first time since 2018, bringing the unique taste of Irish grass-fed dairy to audiences from across the world.
Taking place for the first time in four years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, SIAL Paris, which is the world’s largest food trade fair, welcomed 7,000 exhibitors and 300,000 visitors, including key food and drink buyers from over 200 countries.
Delegates from Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North & Central America visited the Ornua and Kerrygold stand, which featured as part of Bord Bia’s ‘Origin Green’ Dairy Hall at the five-day showcase. Among the guests who visited the Ornua & Kerrygold stand was Minister of State for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon TD, who was welcomed by members of the Ornua Foods and Ingredients teams.
Since Ornua last exhibited at SIAL Paris, Kerrygold has become Ireland’s first food brand to exceed the billion-euro mark in annual sales, expanding its presence and portfolio internationally in key markets during that time. In addition to the core Kerrygold Salted and Unsalted block butter products, an expanded Kerrygold range showcased at SIAL included Kerrygold garlic and herb butter sticks – available in Germany – as well as Kerrygold cheddar and Regato.
After a four-year break, SIAL also offered an ideal platform through which to showcase Ornua Ingredients’ expanding global footprint and enhanced capabilities. The global foodservice industry has recovered strongly following the gradual easing of pandemic-related restrictions over the past 12 months and throughout that period, Ornua Ingredients has continued to collaborate with key customers in bringing their consumers the optimum ‘Eating out of Home’ experience through leading-edge applications and product delivery for QSRs.
This customer-solutions focus is at the heart of Ornua Ingredients’ B2B communications platform Cooperative by Nature, which was displayed in a live setting for the first time at SIAL Paris and signals the business’s ambition to further solidify its position as a global leader in dairy ingredients delivery, innovation and expertise.
Speaking at SIAL Paris 2022, Seamus Greene, MD Ornua Ingredients Ireland said: “SIAL has traditionally served as an important fixture in our calendar, so it’s great to be back this year to reconnect in-person with our long-standing customers and build new connections with customers from growing markets. In response to the continued evolution of the global retail and foodservice sectors, Ornua is well-positioned to seize the growth opportunity this change brings, and reinforce our position in key international markets.”
